(More customer reviews)I bought this to upgrade an older Dell Dimension running an Intel P4 2.5 Ghz on an AGP 4x motherboard.I wanted DVI and widescreen support, and this was one of the few cards that would offer that on an AGP 4x slot and a standard 115W power supply.It was surprisingly easy to install.It fit into the 4x slot without a problem, as you would hope.In contrast to reviewers on multiple sites who have complained about driver stability, I had no problems using Win XP Home SP3 and the Catalyst 6.11 package downloaded from ATI's website.Win XP recognized the card immediately and installed a stock driver; I then installed the Catalyst drivers on top.Just make sure you've scrubbed your old drivers and registry keys out of the system.Warning: do not attempt to game on this card.Quake III Arena will not do better than 27 fps @ 1280x1024.And that's not why I bought it.BUT, no crashes with the hardware working overtime.Also, although the card supports 1920x1080 resolutions, it doesn't have the stones to do streaming HD video transcoding, even at 720p, so if that's what you're trying to do, it's time to buy a new system.But for the limited application of allowing an older system to support modern displays and resolutions, it's a great find.
