No light is visible to the human eye, but the camera picks up on the Infrared light given of by the IR LED's. A great product, but don't let Amazon fool you with there picture. They show a product with 3 panels of Night Vision attachments, but when you pay you only get one panel. Besides the false picture, the product is great for the the very low- to complete darkness video shooting.
