(More customer reviews)This claimed to be the same pinout as my MSI H55M-E33 in my HTPC but after hooking it up smoke came out.I sat down and looked at the pinout in the motherboard manual and this and the white and red wires were reversed, so I switched them.Sadly I cooked the optical transceiver in this, but the spdif still works, and luckily I didn't cook my motherboard.

After I switched the wires and got the SPDIF connected to my receiver I was thrilled to see the magic DTS-HD Master light up and the room filled with sound.The great thing about PCM through spdif is that it isn't processed in the computer, but inside the receiver so you get no sound degradation along the way.

MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE WIRING.
